Form-fitting and offering features typical of more formal tailoring, the Arkwright Jacket brings an air of sartorialism to a classic workwear piece. Its four pockets ensure the jacket is sufficiently utilitarian and includes a full lining that is perfect for all-year-round wear.
The Arkwright is a nod to Britain’s historic cotton manufacturing in rural Derbyshire, named after the inventor and “father of the modern industrial factory system" - Richard Arkwright. Made for the closing months of Summer ‘19, SJC has woven two distinct and exclusive cotton weaves for Workhouse suiting.
Note: We at SJC love to mix & match! If you want to combine any Arkwright or Derwent piece together then we implore you to do so.
Size & Fit
If between sizes, for example a 39 chest, size-up. The shoulders are high and period, and will fill the sleevehead - giving a slim comfort fit.
- Twin box-pleat
- European yoke
- Four button-flap pockets
The brown cloth seen here is our own French Vaugan stripe, made from 100% cotton. See chocolate and cream stripes set on a dark brown backdrop - the weave is dense, offering a fine texture and smooth ‘hand feel’. It is 16oz in weight, so heavier than you might expect and is hard wearing, low maintenance and can be depended upon for regular wear.
The grey cloth seen here is our own chambray open-weave with a Cabernet stripe. A vista of colours and textures upon close inspection, the weave blends into mild grey tones and the texture softens when observed from afar. It’s 16oz in weight, and much like the Vaugan stripe is satisfyingly heavy and perfect for everyday wear.
Dry clean only.
