Open-Weave Arkwright Jacket

Sale price Price £249.00 Regular price

Description

It's workwear. Real workwear. Tough, beautiful and hardwearing, a suit you can wear under a truck or in a bar, and guess what - it's not denim.

The jacket is form-fitting and offers an air of sartorialism to a classic workwear piece. Its four pockets ensure the jacket is sufficiently utilitarian and includes a full lining that is perfect for all-year-round wear. The cloth used is a signature SJC weave that has been woven exclusively by us (see Simon's Notes below to find out more).

Also available in our Vaugan Stripe. Seen here with the Arkwright Waistcoat and Arkwright Trouser.

Note: We at SJC love to mix & match! If you want to combine any Arkwright or Derwent piece together then we implore you to do so.

Simon's Notes

The Arkwright is a nod to Britain’s historic cotton manufacturing in rural Derbyshire, named after the inventor and “father of the modern industrial factory system" - Richard Arkwright. Made for the closing months of Summer ‘19, SJC has woven two distinct and exclusive cotton weaves for Workhouse suiting.

The grey cloth seen here is our own chambray open-weave with a Cabernet stripe. A vista of colours and textures upon close inspection, the weave blends into mild grey tones and the texture softens when observed from afar. It’s 16oz in weight, and much like the Vaugan stripe is satisfyingly heavy and perfect for everyday wear.
